Being optimistic is cool. Just don’t let it fool you into disregarding reality to maintain it. Sometimes it’s better if things look dire because it encourages you to do something about it. Eternal optimism always leads you to believe that the answer is coming any day now, if we just wait. And wait. And wait.
Honestly, I think GEOTUS is done running for office. He’s the head of the Republican Party at the moment, and whatever party he decides to form if he becomes dissatisfied with the GOP. He’ll be the kingmaker, but likely won’t be king again. Him winning the first time was a fluke because the establishment got careless, and we knew that they would do everything in their power to make sure an outsider never got inside again. And they did. And they admitted it in TIME magazine.
What gives me hope though (my own little hopium hit) was when Don Jr. tweeted out the image of The Lion King, and asked if people remembered how that movie ends. Someday he’s going to avenge his father, and take the pride land back from the hyenas.
