There are many things you could be getting involved with right now, but they need to be at the local level. If the last 4 years taught us anything, it's that we can't fix things from the top down. We have strength as a grassroots movement, we just need to use it. Keep an eye on local elections and primaries. This is partially how the problems in congress are so entrenched: The shenanigans begin at the primaries. If you're up to it, get on school boards or other community positions. Donate to local candidates directly. Look at Convention of States and see if your state is already involved. (This started in the Obama years, picked up a ton of steam in 2019, but was delayed for obvious reasons in 2020.) The main subject of the convention is Term Limits. (This is the real reason Ted Cruz keeps bringing up Term Limit amendments. He's trying to draw attention to it.) If your state has already thrown their hats in, great, but there's still things that can be done. You can still call/email other state legislatures and bug them about it. State legislatures are in a funny position right now, since they don't usually get treated like they have all that much power. If enough states can get involved in the Convention, then we can get some fresh meat in congress in a few years. It's not a cure-all, and there will be a ton more to do if it succeeds, but it's a good start.
