By your "logic" we'd never have founded the Republic to begin with - because we'd never have considered ourselves worthy enough in the face of terrible odds.

Yeah, now is not the best time to rollover on the one thing that kept us free for so long. For far too long we have relied on men and women in our Federal and State governments to secure our liberty. They have failed and many of us got lazy.

The founding document is the reminder, the ultimate reminder that no one and no body just hands us freedom, it can only be defended and never given but by God and secured by our own diligence.

We speak of wars and battles - but many of those had very little to do with securing out freedom. No, now we see where the struggle lies - and it's not over in Iraq or Somalia. It's right here at home.
