Just drive with your family or a friend and take turns driving...My parents used to do that. Pack my brother and I in the truck and drive from the east coast to visit the relatives in Texas....stop at a motel..... Long drives were not fun...packed the back seat with pillows..cooler with sandwiches....my parents would fight over the map....directions and then laugh ....lots of bugs on the windshield. My favorite was when we finally got to Texas the bugs were really large...remember I was a child....he would call them elephant bugs...everything is bigger in Texas.....Memories my friend memories....make your own plans stop being so afraid...you have control over your life...stop clutching your pearls....
