hell, if you read the DC Police Chiefs resignation letter he was asking for more security the day before when they saw how many people were in DC and also the day of. He requested Natl Guard when he saw the Capitol police were going to be overwhelmed and it took like 6 hours after his request for them to approve it and get the guard there. And that, my friends, is bureaucratic timeliness and one of the reasons my prior job contributed to a freaking artery in my head rupturing.
