What are the established facts potentially against Parler so far? Also, the BB article on this was devoid of details. What's their hosting server, software delivery, and overall status since coming back? What I gather:
- Lots of establishment and RINOs and shills there. Kinda seems true, borderline established but almost certain. I didn't use Parler enough to be sure.
- Requires phone numbers
- Shuts down some free speech arbitrarily
For each of these, they may or may not be a sign of controlled opposition, and #3 is the only major one. With #1, you're going to get a lot of shills if there's money to be made. Wherever there is a platform with connectivity, there's going to be the equivalent of spammers, dressed up with whatever is acceptable there.#2 works for and against us. Not sure if we have particular reason to be suspicious of them for that. Nowadays only TDW doesn't require, even most emails require it, which sucks. (Get so much f-ing spam these days thanks to constant phone reqs for everything) With #3, I read how they kicked of Lin Wood for a firing squad comment. Without going to the details, TBF, Lin Wood is fucking nuts and probably a lead shill at best, and worst case subverting us. It's a tough spot for a new platform to not get derailed by something like this, though I think they should ride the wave and let people try to clean up the situation themselves through dialogue. But the favorable view for them in this manner is they may be something like a business that operates under 2000s and 90s common cultural values, and there may act as a reasonable platform alternative.
tl;dr I get Parler has limitations and concerns, and we need a better platform for sure, but not sure if it's right to call them full blown RINOs and controlled opposition, or say that they're using user data to give to the gov, etc. I'm probably not alone in being too ignorant of Parler to really be sure, gonna have to trust the Pede movement on this if they say Parler sux
