No, you aren’t crazy, and aren’t the first to notice. “The most loathsome after-birth of the [First] World War has been the revival of this internationalism which in its last analysis is nothing more than universal class rule. On the one hand the Soviet desires to control the entire world by the military arm of an enslaved laboring class. And on the part of certain captains of industry and finance there seems to be a determination to rule the universe through the agency of wealth." -Father Coughlin, 1930 Father Coughlin (the Rush of the 1930s) is a favorite bugbear of the left who they still like to bring up from time to time to slander, but his observations were clear-eyed. Internationalism = globalism, the Soviets were replaced by the CCP, and captains of industry and finance are now led by Big Tech

Edit: Forgot to add that part of the reason why Soviet communism got destroyed was due to CoCom and the tighter implementation of export controls. By the late 70s/early 80’s it was clear that the Soviets had fallen behind the U.S. in military technology (e.g. by >5 years for computers. Patriots implemented export controls to stop the leak of Western technology that the Soviets used to stay relevant

The globalists’ role becomes spotlighted when you realize that concurrently in the 1970s, free trade orthodoxy began to be pushed hard culturally across the West. Free trade allows easier circumvention of export controls and drains middle class wealth while enriching the elite.

Meanwhile, China began to somehow simultaneously reform its communist system to accept free market principles. While pretending to be free market, the American non-globalist elite gullibly off-shored our country to China
