The entire problem of the "left", as in the ruling elite, comes from materialist reductionism.
They believe matter is fundamental and consciousness is secondary. This makes survival the topmost priority; justifies anything to ensure survival; and creates existential fear about anything that could go out of control.
This causes these people to seek total control of their environment – which means, control of other people, because the possible actions of other people are primarily the perceived threat.
I personally believe in a different kind of spirituality – but it's literally the absence of any spirituality at all that leads these people into existential fears and attempting to ensure survival at any cost, starting with totalitarian top-down control of everyone on Earth, in order to control what they perceive are risks to existence.

I personally don't believe in God – I believe in a different kind of spirituality – but it's literally the absence of any spirituality at all that leads this people into existential fears and attempting to ensure survival at any cost, starting with totalitarian top-down control of everyone on Earth, in order to control what they perceive are risks to existence.
