Defeating the soviet bloc and effectively liberating Eastern Europe is one of the great achievements in western history, right up there with winning the two world wars in terms of defeating a murderous and soulless enemy menacing millions. The Reagan economic miracle is almost unmatched in American history. Reagan also burnished the reputation of the country in a way that’s almost imaginable today. Remember, Iran had us by the balls for 400+ days and carter was entirely impotent to deal with those hostages. No president has handled such crises and threats better than Reagan. And it’s not even close, sorry.
