It would not be difficult to blacklist all of those super unknown and stale ancient wallets. I don't think it should be possible from an ethical standpoint and I consider this to be a major flaw to Bitcoin, but it is absolutely possible for an exchange to pessimistically refuse or rate limit coin with that lineage as a defense against fucking up the currency trading value.
