Well to me Western Civ is worth preserving.

Working class people spend plenty on what they like. They have the money for tickets to classical stuff if they want to see it.

Museums have free nights.

It's the present, if people are still interested.

The long march through the institutions has left-ified much, but you can still get a good eyeful of what is meaningful and aspirational.

My main point is that cities are where lots of questions are asked, or can be asked or used to be asked; they are places to think. Well they used to be. Maybe even now. That's where the libraries are. And even now, not every book is available electronically.

My main point was that cities are being purposely destroyed, exactly because too much thinking goes on there.
