'Turf war' is spot on, and to be fair Trump/McConnell is one also. But it would be difficult to explain to anyone outside this forum exactly why the turf war is happening. Generalizations just don't cut it, the reasons hinge on intricate details surrounding January 6th.
After years -- decades! -- enduring people generalize uselessly about politics I was PROUD AND AMAZED at the high proportion of Trump's 80+ million voters who were completely aware of the Constitutional civics of State legislatures, differences between House and Senate characteristic and behavior (when so many Americans years past couldn't even tell them apart) and the intricacies of Trumps electoral challenge, and the gravity of Pence's action.
And the extremely high stakes for the country as the too-predictable result of GA runoff was setting in.
When the other half of the country was only force-fed touchy-feely crap that wouldn't even make a second rate comic book. Literally mind trash.
It's not influencers per se... influencers have 'quality' too and much is lacking. The younger they are the less you dare fault them if they cannot frame issues and present details precisely. College grads have trouble mastering that on the fly.
Up to date MAGA Conservatives do not just have 'positions' on things. They are also equipped now with specific 'judgements' of specific people. Whether it's McConnell or Pence, it went something like this,
- a moment is reached, and something crucial is expected to happen
- it does not happen and the reason why is a 'mystery'
- judgement delivered, resolve strengthened, sense of urgency increases
- there is nothing touchy-feely about this. It is evidence/action based
- because we were all aware of the details/consequences...
- ... we can all move forward in concert.
