There were a couple of other things that had to happen to stave off impeachment

Manafort and Stone had to be willing to accept prison rather than tell the lies the coup plotters wanted them to tell

And GEOTUS had to play a nimble game to avoid giving them any grounds for an obstruction of justice charge. Which was their goal all along. That's what they had on Nixon.

I also like to think that the letter I sent both my senators telling them that unless they voted to acquit I'd vote for their opponent every time had some effect.:) They did both send me a reply. One of them even signed it personally (looked like) not a stamp.
