The ratio of HETEROSEXUAL to HOMOSEXUAL pedophiles is 11:1 (it says so in the linked study. Apparently the original comment's author didn't read the site well enough). That means for every 11 straight pedophile, there is 1 gay pedophile. That's how math checks out because for 99 straight pedophiles there are 9 gay pedophiles, and that's about 5 times larger than if it were just 2 gay pedophiles (because gays are 2% of the population).

If there were 11 gay pedos to 1 straight pedo, then gays would be 550 times more likely to molest kids!

There are only 5 times "more" gay pedophiles compared to their ratio in the population; so there are still 11 times as many straight pedophiles as gay pedophiles at face value.

Talking simplistic theoretical example here, say you have two tribes, in one there is a recessive gene for excessive altruism and in the other there is not. Even if it is at the cost of the individuals who have it, if their altruism is what enables their tribe members to survive a famine while the other tribe starves, it is the gene pool of the tribe containing this gene that survives, not the one of the tribe without.

I can name a very good example for this: Meerkats have guards that whistle when a predator approaches to warn the rest of the tribe. The guard will probably get eaten first but more animals will be saved by his alarm, therefore the whistling will get passed down.
