A couple of years ago, when the TDS started manifesting itself as an occasional snarl, I told her the following:

"If you ever start finding that some of the things you've accepted as true turn out to be false, please know that you can always talk to me and I'll try to show you where your assumptions went wrong."

Many of these people are victims. Some of them can be saved.
