Just so everyone is fully aware, there are machines called ground penetrating radar which can see at least to a depth of 50 feet into the gorund but better ones can see a couple hundred feet I believe.

They dopn't work wel in LOW conductance enviroments, say, swamps but in salt water they work great because salt water is conductive.

If you had treasure you wanted to hide and treasure hunters wanted to find that treasure and they knew where you lived and thought "meh, he probably buried it" it would be easy for the treasure hunters to locate your treasure.
