I was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle, in Lubbock, and it was a normal hard-working middle-class American city. The street that I grew up on was a very nice manicured lawn middle class 1950s style homes, we rented out the house that I grew up in for 15 years and I wanted to move back to the state and so I moved back in, it’s unrecognizable, the vast majority of the people here are brown, they’ve turned the nice areas into side of town they used to live in. But it’s more than that, the entire city, besides the wealthy part is majority brown. What happened to the small Texas cities my parents grew up in weren’t an anomaly, they were the fucking future. This is fucking bullshit and it’s wrong and it’s evil and it’s heartbreaking and infuriating.
