Say what you want about Cruz, but he did the same thing with amnesty years ago. He's a master at calling them out on their bullshit. Dems claimed they simply wanted "undocumented workers to come out of the shadows". They repeated it endlessly, so Cruz finally added an amendment to the amnesty bill that basically said, ok we will allow amnesty so that they can live and work in the US but they can never become citizens....ever. They will never be allowed to vote, etc. All the dems voted against the bill once the amendment passed. All of them (if I'm not mistaken). It morphed later into "Cruz supports amnesty", once most had forgotten the finer details, when he was running for prez in 2016. He never supported amnesty. He supported exposing the dem fake talking points for the lies they are.
