I have been here since the day they opened this site to us, and I can tell you at least somewhat of what youre seeing is this:

We have some full-time shills in here. They are a higher quality shill than the low-effort CCP shills. These ones commit. They post up 40 hours a week, and often you can actually see in their post histories that they clock in, work either 6hrs or 8hrs on the dot, and then clock out, and they do it 4-6 days per week.

These shills know what it will take to get banned, and they go just up to that line without crossing it.

These shills have a strategy and it is this: Go to new and post up there. Try to be one of the first 5 comments in every thread. Every comment is something dampening or designed to negate or discourage, or derail the topic. Then, when you see a post get stickied, be in the first 5 comments with something incredibly simple like, "FUCK THE DNCCP". Because you are the first post in a sticky, you will get like 200 updoots by the time the thread has petered out. Do this all the time, and you have racked up some serious karma by now. I could name maybe a dozen of these hi-karma shills.

Then, once your main shill acct has tons of karma, make a bunch of sock accts, and use other peoples threads to have conversations between your acct and your sock accts to generate the appearance of consensus.

They have other tricks too, but this is a mainstay.

Some of the oldschool pedes will see a thread that is overrun with shills and just skip the whole thread instead of doing battle.

So if you see some bullshit comment with 100 upvotes, sometimes this is why.
