Yeah I've no issues w/ Sam Ash. If I had to guess, the family is likely liberal (complete guess just based on what I know), but I've also never seen them say or do anything political, or run their business in a way tied to politics in any manner. And the son who I know a bit, I've never seen him comment on any social or political issues on facebook; always just music related, which is a good indicator (and how it should be, when running a large business).

edit - That said, I buy so little gear new anyway, so most of my purchases are from a local store (with great technicians), or from a really incredible local store from the state where I used to live (it's actually where all my former GC coworkers went to work lol) -- they get TONS of high-end vintage gear, really rare stuff, and the only new stuff they sell tends to be high-end and/or botique pedals, etc (very common to see that they sold a $20,000 guitar to someone on the other side of the country, to give an idea of the gear they buy and sell). Their selection is amazing. I don't want to dox myself but if you're interested PM me and I'll tell you the stores; both are really fantastic. For instance, got a brand new Reverend guitar (retails at $1300) for $800, got a Guild acoustic (used/RI built) that was being sold for $1000, and they sold to me for $750 without me asking for anything off. They're just really good like that. Local and used is the way to go w/ music gear for sure
