Yes black people are arrested for more crimes. Part of it is surely due to increased enforcement. For example: black people are more likely to get arrested and go to jail for non violent drug crimes despite black people using drugs the same or less than white people. It could also be they commit more crimes due to social and systemic issues. People here are saying that like that is the end to it. No problems here, everything is working fine. If you think that then there has to be an external reason unless you think black people are inherently more criminal which is bullshit and also racist as fuck. It also brings up questions around free will which is the moral basis behind our criminal justice system. If more crimes are committed due to the environment then that should be fixed. In fact, I think this is what many on the left would call systemic racism (not everyone for sure since some people think it is just naive white people hate black people .) This issue should be tried to be fixed since it is hurting everyone and breaking up the country. Republicans should have a plan to deal with this other than "black people need to act better." Since that isn't a fucking plan, it is just a diversion of responsibility. It fixes nothing. It seems to me many people here are okay with this. If we want black people and other minorities to walk away (which is necessary for long term viability of the Republican party) we need a plan. Some people here are saying unambiguously racist things (even in reply to me here.) Not saying you are, but some are. Do you think black people are going to feel welcome if we support this speech on our platform. We ban or downvote people for not agreeing with Trump 100% or not being enthusiastically supportive. But racist shit like that I guess is fine and even upvoted. We can't hide behind freedom of speech then. Freedom of speech is not that you can say racist shit and everyone should be like "I respect that opinion," but for them to say it and then others to shoot it down. If that isn't happening then it is just racism. Republicans and conservatives arent going to win long term if we openly allow racists under our tent.
