Assuming that part of the rope has been used (pulled on) to lower the garage door since at least October 2019, any kind of slip knot would have pulled thru itself and unraveled by now.

Only something non-slip, like the very common non-slip loop knot that anyone who fishes knows how to tie, would last. So, not a noose.

And why wouldn't someone want to put a loop on it? Makes it easier to pull. Are we not allowed to have loops now? Fuck that.
