It was devastating and infuriating for me- and mind you I am barely towards the center on the left compared to the group of liberal/leftist friends who chose to decide I was suddenly evil.
The sooner you calmly stand your ground, back your husband, and quietly walk away the healthier it will be for your marriage and mental state.
They won't honestly allow you to try and explain or educate them anyways, so best to not put both of you through it.
Because the left are FAR WORSE than they were four and a half years ago when I went through this...
