I'm not going to just randomly take the word of rioters about their suspiciously cartoonish story without anything to back it up.

And it's awfully fuckin convenient that they have this particular excuse for burning this house down, along with the Batman-esque story to go along with it.

Not to mention the timing is suspiciously convenient too. If this house was "well known" to all these people for such a long time, it's pretty odd that they decided to do this all right now when they were already in the middle of rioting, instead of having done something prior to this point rather than just letting it go on for ages.
