So to your argument, I have the same message to you that I have to the people when I went to visit Occupy LA: Valid grievance, but you've been manipulated into blaming the wrong people.
The people of Occupy LA were angry at the wall street corporations for being corrupt, but I tried to explain to them it was crony-capitalism, the gov't allowing corporations to infiltrate it, that was the issue and not "corporations" themselves.
In the same way, your beef is with the FAA and gov't, not airlines. If it was proposed to have the FAA create a rule banning airlines from refusing service to people without masks I would support that. The airlines are a bit of an extreme case, and to be honest, I'm sure the airlines policy of forcing customers to wear masks has more to do with government intervention anyway.
Finally, the airlines also have to worry about lawsuits from people who will catch COVID 19 and will sue the airline. They'll say they were fine and then some guy on a flight with them wasn't wearing a mask and now Southwest has to PAY.
It's a stupid situation, but almost all the stupidity comes from government regulation and the government judicial system. Reform here is what the answer is, not what OP suggested.
