nah im actually super manipulative and grew up around it, and i studied psychology for a bit before deciding i needed to leave that field because i would never morally be ok with sharing my research with people who might use it to manipulate other people.
In fact, in reality ive boycotted 99% of all things in the economy just because i purely dont like them (beit business model, message, etc) but if i do watch it I can see everything being done same as the highest level, skilled person, who attempted to do it.
often i even laugh and offer tips to myself on how they couldve improved the manipulation tactics if only they gave up being so direct and used some subtlety. but they just expect you to absorb the message and dont use the classical tactic of trying to get your enemy to simply agree with you in a subversive manner without directly pushing it in their faces.
you can totally become somewhat enlightened and actually see this stuff clear as day -- the only real problem with it is you will become a hermit like me who simply cannot have normal social relations with people or enjoy things anymore.
All of it will thenceforth be seen as trash and garbage and even looking at it will end up making you feel angry and bitter. because its all hollow shells of stories and entertainment -- not even good anymore because the message and business model MUST TAKE PRIORITY.
some people are just realizing this as a few classics have been altered significantly -- what they dont realize (like the star wars fandom menace) is that their cries are worthless.
the business model wasnt meant for them. its meant so that, the companies can offer no alternatives and intentionally take a nosedive loss for about 20 years or so. after that time, the new generation will no longer remember the past and that will always be what 'normal' was.
so you can cry, kick, scream, make good intellectual points why something is bad and the secret is they will never listen. they know its bad. they WANT it to be bad. it was by design.
so all you'll ever see is them double down, or even triple down on it when it fails because its a long-term goal actually.
yeah ive mentally advanced to the point i can see it and it hardly has effect on me. but as consequence ive abandoned human relationships and social life almost entirely, I dont purchase nearly ANY video games, TV, or movies for the last 20 years.
when people started saying "i'll boycott!" i was the first, and probably actually only one, to do so and stand by it for so long.
but because of my revelations i actually cannot find any enjoyment in these things any longer. and theres no need to feel more angry over something i already know is happening so why bother even looking at it?
I support the small people and the losers of society. not its big winners. independent small company productions only for me. sometimes this means waiting upwards of 10 years on a single thing to release these days, but id rather have nothing.
