You are exactly right.

It seems as though prosperous societies tend to forget this and decline into degeneracy. When that happens they slip, and tyrants try to seize advantage.

But when tyrants make their move they stir something inside of people, waking them up and provoking a return to moral foundations, like an immune response.

I think we're beginning to see that in some groups now. This community and the movement we are all behind is a part of that response.
