If I'm forced to choose, I'll probably choose America first, but I'd rather try to resolve the contradiction and have both.

Libertarians basically plagiarized Ayn Rand and then missed the point. But she basically enshrined and refined America's founding values from the declaration of independence.

Libertarianism can be cancer, because they often have no clue what they're talking about. But what about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Aren't we going against our own founding principles if we say "nobody has a right to come here"?

One thing we currently do that I agree with, and that libertarians wouldn't agree with, is we do an ideological purity test for legal immigrants. They have to show good moral character (don't be a criminal) and demonstrate an appreciation of our history, constitution, founding values, the workings of our government, etc, and then they have to pledge allegiance to the United States of America.

Another thing we could do that I think would be consistent with our values while still protecting us is... just acknowledge the war we're in against Islam. You don't open your borders to your sworn enemies who are currently waging a war against you.
