I visited the Pacific Northwest in 2017. Even then, Portland was a total shithole. It is hyped up as this place with amazing food and all this culture. Aside from a few overpriced food carts, the downtown is filled with derelicts, drug addicts, and bums. Everything is so overpriced and everyone is so smug there that it is the greatest place on earth. The “Chinatown” is empty as all the Chinese fled into the suburbs. The Gorge is nice, but is packed with insufferable Portland pricks. If you want to see Oregon, drive down the coast, preferably far enough away where the Portland pricks won’t want to drive. I hear it’s a different vibe in the Eastern part of the state. Hope to visit there one day. One thing is for sure is that I will never be visiting that shithole of Portland again. Even to drive through is a no go as traffic is a nightmare for such a mid-sized city. Portland is truly the butt wart of America. It will soon give Baltimore or Detroit a run for its money.
