I haven't worn a mask into the grocery store until yesterday. Our city mandated it, too, so I just said fuck it by trying not to become the next "Karen caught on tape." It is dehumanizing. I'm a smiler! I love to smile which might be weird to some, but just how I respond to stuff like, "excuse me" while passing by a person. This time, I still smiled, by habit, but not getting a response or just a cold stare made me feel sad. So, I just kept my head down and tried to shop quicker.
