He tried to stop an attack on a girl who was being raped by a pack of high-melanin-content individuals. The cops were standing nearby watching and doing nothing. One of the aforementioned individuals bashed him in the back of the head from behind.
As he lay dying in the streets, police officers stood on the sidelines and watched. His friends ran to the police and asked for assistance. The police were instructed they could not enter the riot zone, so they did not intervene. Off-duty fire department workers and his friends carried Kris out of the zone onto a nearby street.
Note that the cops continued to do nothing even after he had been attacked and was dying. It took bystanders to actually accomplish anything.
