First time I saw it was a few years ago when I used to hang out at a streamchat site that unfortunately went far left and started to openly call for violence while abusing/harassing anyone they assumed was right of mao. Before I finally left that dump, they talked about "scalping nazis" and whatnot. So when I finally showed them the video of the kid from Chicago who got kidnapped and scalped himself, they were furious! Not at what happened mind you, but the fact that I showed them exactly what they praised and forced them to own it. Last comment I got before everything cooled down was "I never hated someone so much in my life...".
