I stay far away from service calls and just stick to construction for this reason, is it easy to make a lot of money off of simpletons that look down their noses at you? Yes it is. Is it annoying as shit to have to explain to these dingleberries why your prices are what they are? Fucking A it is

edit: one of my all time favorite episodes of Frasier is when Niles, Frasier's brother, is horrified to realize the plumber they called to fix Frasier's toilet is really his high school bully. Niles tries to use his status as a wealthy man both from a successful private psychiatry practice and from marrying a wealthy heiress to flex on his old bully by doing things like bragging about his nice car, only to realize that plumbers can make fucking bank because his bully talks about his car that is nicer

At the start of my career I did service calls and hoo boy did I get a similar feeling, my journeyman instructor who I was helping out for lived in a fucking palace and he and his wife both drove their own BMW and listening to some pompous dickhead talk down to us like they tended to was hysterical, like we had to ride here on a fucking mule or some shit lmao
