in high school I LOVED the U.N.
Wanted them to govern the whole world to "solve" all our problems.
No more arguments, no more "stupid political" nonsense.
I actually thought it would be a good idea if everybody handed over all the money to a single benevolent ruler who would fairly distribute equally for all.
Thankfully there was 1 wise teacher who decided to gently converse with me in the manner you described. Friendly non-judgmental chit-chat, that gradually veered into hypotheticals about how my ideas would function. A devil's advocate scenario that got me to step-by-step accept synonymous translations summarizing my philosophies into viable governmental policies.... until "the big reveal."
When sunlight/reality dawned on the implications of my naive utopian delusions I was shocked at how badly my "innocent" good-intention notions had theoretically allowed a monster-tyrant worse than Hitler to exploit such a system to fatal ends at a global proportion. If there was such a thing as a test for trustworthiness and good judgment, I had failed spectacularly and betrayed myself, my family, humanity. The teacher didn't embarrass or humiliate me, but WOW did I red-pill a 180-degree turnaround.
