I mean just look what they did with Kavanaugh, they tried to say Trump shouldn't put him on the supreme court because it was too close to the midterms. So you've got the midterms and elections, which means every 2 years, Democrats are complaining conservatives can't do something because of politics. Then there's a year in between those, which is also considered too soon, because people are campaigning in between those times.

So it works like this: Election year - don't do anything otherwise it interferes with politics! The year after election year - too close to the midterms, interferes with politics! The year after that, it's midterms, interferes with politics! The year after that - too close to the next election! The year after that - it's election season again! Don't do anything to interfere with it!
