You have a good point. Just like a lot of wealthy kids go to colleges that have them do all sorts of projects helping the poor. They have to go to organizations to help them get in touch with some poor people. My family were always around lower-middle class and poor people so we were used to helping each other out in a natural way.
The same with race relations. We went to school with lots of different ethnicities and live in a multi-racial development. A lot of elite children barely see other ethnicities in their neighborhoods and schools.
