There seems to be a lot more going on here that we don't know about and it's not just about a $50 cell phone she supposedly took from her mom and broke, it's about what was on that cell phone... if it was just a cell phone of course it would be her mom's choice as to whether or not to prosecute, but if there was evidence on that cell phone about a crime, then that would take it out of the mother's hands -- then it becomes whatever the crime was + destroying evidence and the theft charge... combined with the CPS stuff it becomes pretty clear and from what I heard it might have something to do with some allegations against the husband.

Sounds like they ended up getting in an argument with Mom when they went to visit her about the allegations and some things were said and when they realize she recorded the conversation on the phone to entrap one or both of them, she then took the phone and left and then broke it.... so the mom called the police not realizing the shitstorm she was about to start and when she tried to call them back and stop it she thought it worked, but of course that's not how it works with allegations like that...

Whether or not any of that has anything to do with the documentary I can't tell you, but it's looking like the rest of this stuff might be legit and either had very coincidental timing or was very lucky for whoever the other side is and they've went ahead and used what was already there....

They can pretend to be unaware of what happened on this particular day when they got arrested but it would be very disingenuous for them to claim they don't know what it's about at all... That's BS because apparently there was plenty of proof that their family definitely went through some drama a few months ago and that there definitely were some allegations made, and we don't have the information we need to judge the veracity of those allegations, but I have a feeling that's what the mom was trying to do herself, but didn't realize it would get this bad....
