Until UFC became mainstream and demonstrates actual techniques against others, untold millions were spent on karate, Kung fu, and akido “self defense” classes. It’s purely dance moves.

You will never throw an opponent or disable them with strikes if they’re 100lbs heavier and angry. It’s a total joke and grifters try to still sell it to people as if it works.

I’m confident and have medals from competing but if I had a college or even senior high school wrestler square up on concrete, all that training is worthless. That dude is going to shoot in so fast and heavy with a double leg it’s almost unstoppable.

Real world fights are not going to work how you expect, especially if the other person is heavier and can shoot in and close the distance quickly.

Mad respect to trained wrestlers. BJJ can wear them down on a mat and win, but on concrete they are one-shot, one-kill mother fuckers.
