I understand your point about the financial hardships that are currently engulfing numerous blue states. However, I don't know if those state governments would necessarily require a continuation of the fake pandemic in order to salvage their disastrous budgets.
In my view, most of them could instead just cite any damage caused by the riots, and then use that as an excuse to ask for their desired federal bailout money. If those requests were denied, then the blue state governments could simply blame Republicans in Congress for not providing needed economic assistance, while avoiding any culpability themselves.
Obviously, none of us knows for certain what will happen with all this Pooh Flu craziness, come Nov. 4, but I guess we'll find out soon.
