Two things are true:

1. The overall message is against sexualization of children through pop culture. That is what happens to the girl in the movie, and she eventually rejects it and goes home to her conservative family, who spent the whole movie trying to tell her how damaging what she was getting into was.

2. The movie was filmed and edited in such a way that it absolutely contains 90 minutes of wank fuel for perverts and it's fucking disgusting how much their 'against sexual exploitation' film sexually exploits the girls.

I'm just annoyed by groupthink. You can and should absolutely criticize the movie, but I fucking hate when people scream about things because the internet told them to scream about it. You should know what you're screaming about so you can discern whether or not you're being lied to.

Not to say that people aren't wrong saying Cuties is disgusting, but I dislike that people need to be made aware of this issue in our culture and the fucking filmmaker was so up her own ass with 'artistry' that she blew it so badly. Like someone else on here said: it wasn't enough that they showed a girl twerking, it's that they actively pick 'sexual' angles to film it (rather than say, do it in a clinical, detached fashion) and zoom way the fuck up in her junk.
