Ironically the left has shot themselves in the foot.

The new SCOTUS doesn't have to be sworn in before the next election, they only have to be sworn in before the next inauguration.

The left has been setting up so many voter laws to cause the election to get dragged on for so many weeks as they count ballots post-facto that they now have pushed the inauguration so far back that a new SCOTUS will have time to be confirmed.

They can't have both (They'll likely have neither)
