Their nature is to want to control others and make them do what they think is correct. It will upset liberal NYers to no end to think that citizens in a state far away from them are not living the way the liberals want.
Also, I would not be terribly confident the conservative justices on the court would at this point vote to overturn Roe v Wade. Conservative justices will generally respect the principle of stare decisis which is to respect a decided question. RvW has been settled law for a long time and it would be very controversial to overturn it so they may not do it. What you may just wind up with is a very narrowed right to an abortion during a very limited time after conception, so none of this later term abortion horror.
