It all depends on how the parents react.
My clueless neighbor mom freaked out everytime her 4yo son did anything. He would cry and scream forever. He figured out that he could fake it and get the same over the top reaction from the mom.
During a party at my house my 3yo daughter was running, caught her tennies on the carpet, and hit the corner of the coffee table right under her eye, hard.
She cries, wants dad, sitting right there I pull her up on my lap and give her some hugs.
In a couple minutes she is done crying and is doing the arch her back let me down move.
The psycho mom says, "that's it?"
Her kid would still be screaming like he was dying.
My daughter was back playing with the other kids sporting a half-closed eye (which turned into a shiner).
Yeah, I would also give that dad a 10.
