Yeah, I think that's where I'm at. If he was the nominee I'd definitely vote for him, but if there was a better option in the primaries that has shown consistency I'd vote for them.

What bothers me is his sudden style change after losing to Trump. He used to be very formal, like a Bush republican/RINO. I usually wouldn't weigh personality that heavily when deciding my vote, but a sudden change like that makes me think he's being disingenuous just to get votes — pandering, essentially. He even changed his physical appearance with the beard, and started a podcast which is much more Trumpian.

I'm not saying this to disparage him, I hope it's legit, but Trump has changed the game going forward, and many lifetime politicians are trying to piggy back that.
