I see Putin’s Russia as a competitor. You could call it an “adversary” and I’d agree because in my world all competitors are also adversaries. Putin always does what’s good for Russia and himself. One could say he follows a “Make Russia Great Again” strategy. I don’t blame him.

The same can be said about China! Only liberals can be surprised that the Chinese government does what benefits the Chinese economy. Only liberals believe that we live in a world where competition was replaced by enlightened cooperation! That’s naive. Trump gets it. Putin gets it. Xi gets it. Erdogan gets it. Liberals don’t get it. BTW: The EU doesn’t get it either. I’m very dismayed by European politics.
