Gun Dealer here:
I see people buy high end pistols and rifles that are match grade, custom, bla bla bla and can drive tacks all day long. They spend $1,500 and $3,500 on them. They think that the fancy pants gun will make them a Navy Seal Operator! LOL!
Giving a 15 year old a learners permit and a Ferrari will not make them Michael Schumacher.
In reality, they are under trained, over confident and generally horrible shots. The gun outshoots them.
A Bersa and 10/22's is not a fancy high end firearm but it will get from A to B and function reliably.
I always recommend new shooters get a Mossberg, Taurus, Bersa, Glock (yah I said it, because its a base model gun), Ruger, etc. Train and practice. Shoot a 1000 rounds. Become proficient. Then up your game and move your base model gun to the boat, car, garage, give it to the kid, etc.
