The main weapon you have is to stop consuming.
I was fortunate in that my great grandparents lived long enough to still be alive up until my teen years. We're talking about people born in the late 1800's. They "went to town" once every couple of weeks. Granted they lived on farms, but when your shopping list consists of flour, coffee, tobacco, and sugar you're not really funding douchebaggery.
Bring your lunch
Eat at home
You don't need a big house
Get out of high cost of living areas
Drive your car until you're walking with the license plate under your arm
Buying alcohol, beer, and wine is for suckers
Do you really need a new phone?
Your kids would be better off without all the crap you're buying them.
Plant a damn vegetable garden
By your meat from a local farmer
There's more, oh so much more
