Im assuming there'll be a good bit of desertions in all branches and units. Itll kind of be good, kind of bad: combat arms guys are going to be able to go to their smalltown home, train their buddies and be able to defend their homes. Itll reduce overall combat effectiveness for our armed forces, but nobody would want to mess with or invade America when theres about 150 million Americans with actual combat arms training, along with bejng their own supply trains (ie the flyover country thats practically all red)

For the bad, though, will be our overseas members. China will probably sieze Taiwan, and so asia overall is gonna be a hotspot. For the ones in europe, they either go to poland, which will shore up those balkan states, possibly leading to a decent defense against russian forces from the east, eu forces from the west. I remember the cartoonist for Dilbert (forgot his name) said that france will be the first muslim country with nukes.

With russia having possible problems with trying to control the old ussr, they might concentrate south and make a nice bed with iran and syria.
