I love how people use insane people as an example of regular Americans. 'we are so deeply divided', no we're really, really not irl, despite what news/tech/hollywood seems to want. it's really pretty insidious.

we do it too, but in our defense, all we have to use as examples of the other side are insane people. although I admit irl I know people who are calm but...misinformed.
