Charter schools are character-building schools (much stricter discipline). They inculcate the idea that you should be rewarded for merit, not for just showing up--or not even that. Deadliest of all to the Dems: the charter-school system is "old-school," its net effect is to produce students who think for themselves.

As for the "profit motive," teachers' unions profit by corruption. They're a cancer on our educational system.
